Born and raised in Minnesota, storytelling has always been at the heart of what I do. Film is how I share emotion, memory, and meaning. When I document a wedding day, I approach it like a quiet documentary—capturing the in-between moments, the glances, the pauses, the things that can’t be staged. My films aren’t about perfection or polish; they’re about honesty. A true reflection of the love and the story that brought everyone together to celebrate something lasting.

I moved to Chicago to study film and still live and work there today, but returning to Minnesota—to my roots—is where I feel most connected. It’s where I slow down, pay attention, and create wedding films that feel deeply personal, timeless, and real.

I chose the name North Star because of its roots in Minnesota—the North Star State—and what it represents. A steady guide. A constant point of reference. The quiet pull that helps us find our way. To me, it reflects love and connection, and the idea that we all search for our own true north in life—something honest, grounding, and worth following.

That meaning is at the core of how I approach wedding films. My intention isn’t to make every moment cinematic or perfectly styled, but to document the day as it truly unfolds. The pauses, the imperfections, the real emotion. That’s the beauty of it—the true north of the day. A genuine reflection of two people choosing each other, exactly as they are.
